The Innovation business process is no longer a standalone department, run by the resident innovation expert, but rather an enterprise business process that must be merged with other processes, such as product development, patent docketing, and customer relationship marketing.
Organizations are realizing that, like accounting or manufacturing processes, the innovation and/or intellectual property process can yield significant productivity gains by working through a step-by-step workflow.

The goal of Innovation Assessment is to examine your organization’s “innovation” capabilities and processes, and determine where and how to best improve your productivity in several key areas. Because successful innovation requires a myriad of elements, we’ll make sure that we uncover possible areas of failure so that they can be corrected.
During the assessment, MindMatters will consider the characteristics of your industry, your business objectives, costs, your employee demographics and culture, as well as previous innovation programs to arrive at a plan for generating targeted innovation and business results. We’ll meet on-site with key executives, potential participants, and technical resources to fine tune the innovation process. The culmination of this effort is a specific set of recommendations to address any shortcomings as well as enhance the organization’s adoption of innovation. Your organization’s “score” will be benchmarked with others so that you can compare where you stand to make the largest gains.
Using MindMatters’ proprietary model, interviews/surveys are conducted with key individuals and prospective participants within the company. The intent is to solicit feedback and input from a wide range of individuals of the various processes and systems in major areas with an aim of:
- Understanding and mapping the innovation/design process from conception through various internal steps and processes, including the various administrative functions, as well as management's role and decision-making process;
- Gathering an appreciation of the specific oversight and security issues and policies as it pertains to overall protection;
- Developing a specific list of recommendations for future consideration and implementation, presented to management at the conclusion of the study.
