Hi Everyone—
We get inquiries all the time from companies around the World that want to innovate better. Some of them are looking for the latest software, while many need serious help with their innovation process. Still others need us to conduct innovation events in their organizations for fast, guaranteed results.
At some point prior to every engagement, though, we get asked the following question: "Tell us why we should choose MindMatters." And you know what? That's a great question.
There are a lot of companies offering software to help you innovate better. Unfortunately with innovation, one size does not fit all, and software alone will not ensure success. That said, MindMatters might not necessarily be the right company for you.
So how will your organization know which innovation firm to work with?
Why Use MindMatters?
- We have the strongest expertise in our industry. Yes, of course, everyone says this. But we can back it up! Just read our case studies, which highlight decades of success with clients like PPG, 3M, Sony, Respironics, and many more. You can also talk to our customers to find out why they chose us.
- We are the originators of Innovation Management. In fact, we coined the phrase and built the first software platform for managing Innovation and IP. We've had a lot of success, but sometimes that means first learning from failure, as well. We're proud to "know what we know" and use it to help companies improve every day.
- In fact, we've written the book on Innovation, literally. Step by Step Innovation, (available now) is the culmination of everything we've learned over decades of working with top global companies. It's a methodology that we use with every client to get them innovating better, and we've built our solutions around it.
- We approach innovation from the "cultural" view. Getting the culture right is one of the most important aspects of any innovation. Companies out to sell you a "do-it-yourself" software app or quick-fix consulting can't help you with this.
- We treat innovation like a mission critical business process. Because it is. We speak the language of executives, because we are executives. We know the kinds of results and metrics they're seeking, and what they need to consider to get there.
- We have the best tools and software, plain and simple. No other vendor can touch the flexibility of our solutions or the guidance we provide along with them. Even if you're not in the market for software, our team can use these tools to get results for you, so it's critically important to have the best.
- We have outstanding customer service. MindMatters is a small company and we do business differently. We choose to work with clients that we can help the most to compete more favorably in their respective industries. Having a team of people here who are passionate about great service makes all the difference.
Maybe MindMatters isn't the right choice.
There are potential customers for whom we simply are not the right fit. We can save you a lot of time and headaches if you fall into one of the following categories:
- Those who don't want our guidance. We hear it all the time: "We want to roll out software that will help us innovate better." Well, unfortunately that simply doesn't exist. If your company has innovation goals, simply putting an application in place is not going to guarantee you success.
- Those who only want an inexpensive, quick-fix. Innovation is a long and winding road. While we can provide some results immediately, long-term success is our ultimate goal. Processes will be woven into the fabric of your company so they become repeatable and predictable. Providing that level of care prohibits us from being the least expensive on the market.
- Those for whom innovation is a "nice-to-have". Here's the brutal truth about innovation--not all companies require the depth of experience that we provide. Others are losing money and competitive advantage every single day without it. We only have the resources to work with the latter.
If your organization chooses MindMatters and we can't sufficiently help you, then we both lose. That's why we're honest about the extent to which our services can improve innovation in your company and what your expectations should be. Even if it means we lose the sale! If you're not sure, please call us and together we will determine whether MindMatters is the right fit or not.
I hope all of these points help you to choose the right innovation company to work with, even if that isn't us!
Best Regards,
John Gabrick, CEO, MindMatters
